Tools that we used whist editing in Final Cut Pro in order to create our trailers.
I used the blade tool to cut different clips to the right length and get the parts of each clip that I wanted to use in the final edit of each of our trailers
I added taglines and reviews into parts of the trailers that fade in/out to give a cinematic effect like they do in many other horror movies.
I also did colour correction on all of the clips by using colour boards and colour wheels to adjust the saturation, exposure, temperature, hue and colour of the shadows, midtones and highlights.
The colour correction gave the aesthetic that we wanted for our horror movie and made the colour throughout our opening sequence consistent even when switching between various different cameras and locations with different amounts of light.
I also added artificial sound effects and made certain sounds that were recorded when filming, louder so that each of them had a greater effect.
I also key-framed the music in the background so that it faded in and out at the right times and built towards the climax.
I added a letter box effect over the entire video to give it a more cinematic aesthetic.
I also straightened and cropped certain clips that hadn’t been filmed as straight as I would’ve liked them to be.
Lastly, I stabilised a couple of the tracking shots as they were a bit too shaky.
